Event Details

UK UPA is running a side event on Wedensday 8th September where you can hear from a panel on how to plan and write a winning proposal.

The panel and hosts are:

Filip Healy - Co-chair of the UPA Conference 2010 and 2011
Giles Colborne - Member of the Presentations Committee for the UPA Conference 2010 and 2011
Chandra Harrison - President Elect of the UK UPA

This event is kindly sponsored by Amberlight, CX Partners and Microsoft

Presenting at UPA conferences can be nerve-wracking and rewarding. Nerve-wracking because presenting to an audience of experts from all over the world is a daunting prospect; rewarding because it will help you hone your knowledge, focus your thinking and put you in the mix with people like Steve Krug, Ginny Redish, Dana Chisnel, Jacob Neilsen and Jarred Spool.

If you'd like to present at UPA's 2011 conference in Atlanta, the time to think about it is now. The official call for papers opens on 2nd September and closes on 1st October 2010.

Competition to speak is always tough. Writing a proposal that passes the judges' scrutiny and that catches the eye of the conference committee takes care and attention.

The panel will be answering questions such as:
- How long does it take to write a winning proposal?
- What topics and themes are of particular interest?
- How does the conference theme affect your choice of topic?
- What makes the UPA audience different to other conferences?
- What are the common pitfalls and schoolboy errors you must avoid?
- What will happen if you're accepted?
- How do you prepare and deliver a great presentation?
